Moru Village

$8/Person =
WATER FOR LIFE

We are convinced that we need to provide clean water for the 2,800 people of Moru Village, Uganda. This community desperately needs our help. Their excitement and grateful response upon hearing we would provide a single well was humbling, to say the least.

Moru Villagers Hearing of
SSI's Well Project

The Moru Village Story

We are convinced that we need to provide clean water for the 2,800 people of Moru Village, Uganda. This community desperately needs our help. Their excitement and grateful response upon hearing we would provide a single well was humbling, to say the least.

After assessing the need, prayer, and consulting with the same contractor who has successfully completed two wells for us in this region, we want to move forward with an advanced solar-powered system and submersible pump. This means we provide a real “mini” infrastructure - forever changing the lives of everyone in this village. The system will include a 6,000 gallon steel storage tank mounted on a 20 feet high tower, be able to produce 1,800 gallons of water per hour - from a 400 foot depth, and will include a network of up to 3,000 feet of pipe with 4 public stations where the community can get clean on-tap water.

The contractor has agreed to hire local laborers where possible; further helping the local economy. The contractor includes one year of maintenance, regularly checking on the project. Our plan is to train a local resident to oversee the system thereafter. (Neill visited a similar project successfully completed by the same contractor. Similar systems are already running trouble-free for 5 years.) I will personally go to inspect and dedicate the completed project. The total cost is $22,500. This translates to a little more than $8 per Moru village resident. That’s right, for just $8 per person we can provide life changing clean water to an entire village. Furthermore, it is our prayer that the entire village would come to faith in Jesus through this act.

Donors who give $5,000 or more will travel with us on a life changing experience, at no cost, to dedicate this project to the glory of the Lord Jesus. The trip will be 7 days in total. A donor may send a person in their stead.

All donations, no matter how small, will be spent directly on this project. As always, administrative and travel cost associated with this project is covered through other resources.

Thank you for partnering with SSI!
